Cute art and world! I had trouble trying to reel in the fishes and I didn't know which ingredient was the order, I also realized you can't leave once you go fishing (for me anyway) so you have to get a catch.
The art is super cute, and I love the world-building you’ve created. It’s especially fun in the first few minutes. A great game jam entry!
First thing I did was break through the bottom of the sea with the hook :) Really fun game, and as dillbin said, a more populated sea would be nice, I also had a hard time looking for the correct ingredients. But otherwise it's a lovely experience! :)
I liked the art; the characters and the world are incredible
Thank you so much! We put a lot of love and effort into crafting this scenery ^^
I love the setting and the idea that every thing is coffee related. Game play mechanic is very neat as well! Definitely a spin on the usual "click and drag the ingredient" methods. Very inventive game design.
Could you consider making the fishing area a bit smaller though? Or perhaps more populated? A lot of the time I was stuck searching for the fish/s I needed for the next drink, so I think have a smaller area to search or more fish in general could be beneficial. Also having more fish could add extra challenge and more punishment if you accidentally hook the wrong fish.
The hook mechanic is great tho, again very inventive. I think it would be interesting if you could hook multiple fish at once, perhaps all the fish you need for one order. In doing so, this could add extra challenge or less time to reel in the fish, but I think it could be a good risk/reward mechanic.
And I get it's a game jam game so you may not revisit it, but those are just my thoughts. Overall you guys did a great job and the game is very nice looking, very good presentation. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for this very thorough and pertinent feedback! Will surely take all of what was said into account when/if revisiting this project, definitely agree on some points! ^^
The graphics and the sound design are amazing! Same with the controls, they feel great and the gameplay loop is fun. though it is true there is some bugs with the hook getting stuck or not being able to catch anything. Loved it eitherway, awesome game!
Thanks for the feedback! Very glad you enjoyed the game overall!
I love the concept. Although getting the hook stuck underground got a bit frustrating, but other than that it was a nice game. Really put my Stardew fishing skills to the test! Great job!
Thanks a lot! Yeah it's a bit of a bummer we got a few surprises at the end that hindered our ability to playtest and fix some bugs :( Love that you enjoyed the experience tho! Can't wait to have some time to test everyone's games! :)
Cool style, and nice use of the themes. The bugs are bit bothersome. I had the hook go underground (and there were fish there! Who knew?) multiple times.
Thanks for the feedback! Can't wait to patch some rough holes in this project to make it as good as it can be ^^
