Very fun! I played this game for a while and enjoyed it. The movement seemed like it would be a pain but it was actually a good balance of controllable but challenging. I like the idea of roller-skating the whole time. And shooting a barrage of acorns at the penguins was very satisfying like C-Tor said

After getting used to the controls, i got really invested in this game. As the game went on, I found myself trying out different strategies. At first I thought the rabbits were kinda useless, then I tried using them to block off a whole section so I can put my main focus on one half of the map. Then towards the end, I tried putting the blocks behind my bear as a safety. Not sure which strategy worked best, but it was fun to experiment with. I was doing well until level 21, then got decimated, because I forgot to block off an area before the penguins came. I like how the lines are drawn into the ice, and I really like how there's a distinct sound when you come to a hard stop in the ice.

I was a bit confused at penguin hitboxes, then I think i realized that they took damage based on velocity of the acorn. It was satisfying killing tons of penguins in a spray of acorns.

What I also really liked was the little mechanics I wouldn't expect, like ricochet kills that give off a special effect. Also when I first ran over the rabbit surprised me. I kept running over the rabbits.

In my brainstorming the rabbits would have had levels where they could really stand out. The projectiles can be flaky for sure. It was a fun game to work on and maybe after the jam I’ll add some of the ideas cut for time.

It would be good to have some sort of a targeting or a way of showing where the pines would end up.

It’s the mouse position when you click, but it could take inspiration from what your game has–a bar that stretches out or something like that. Thanks for playing and for the suggestion!

Ohhh the mouse position, I thought it just went in a direction based on the mouse position. Well the I guess yeah you could have something like in my game :)

Well, yes the mouse/cursor does set the direction. There’s a behind the curtain skill for throw strength that increases each level. There’s a drag force that slows down the pine cones over distance and they need to be going a certain speed when they hit to take down the penguin.

The projectiles were far more trouble than I expected. Sometimes I’ll shoot one and ask myself, “Now, why didn’t that knock down that penguin?” Penguin feet seem especially resistant to pine cones for reasons I do not understand.
