I mean are the legals rights has to be for build box? or the game will be property of the developer?

All games are the property of the developer, however by submitting your game, we do reserve the right to use your submission for marketing purposes. This is because we need to be able to show the winners and other finalists. (Zack)

the game is yours to do whatever you want with. Hoping that jammers will publish their games vs just using them for jam!

Hi, can we publish our game to appstores before submitting to game jam or do we have to wait for the gamejam results then we can publish to appstore etc? Thanks

I recommend holding off on releasing your submission. We are going to do our best to look for other opportunities for the best submissions so it's advantageous to wait a little while.
