Its a great idea, but I would like to have some instructions on how the pieces move and functions. I got a bug where it was the second players turn forever which broke the game. It was fun, played against a friend locally over discord screenshare.

Cool idea, with a tutorial it could be great! (I was a little confused at the beginning) Maybe when you hover over a piece it tells you what it does?

-- Also nice GMTK reference :)

Yes, I'm doing a small info page for the pieces. It will be present in the second iteration.

Howdy Gorilla! I gave this one a try. I didn't try out network mode at all, just local 2P against myself. I was pleasantly surprised when some of the typical Chess mechanics didn't quite work the way I expected them to! Interesting twist on a classic game, and the death scream sound effect was funny. I could have used more info/tutorial about the way things would behave in advance of the game (especially if I was really playing multiplayer). This feels like a stretch for a thematic fit for this jam, but the game is solid and I wish you luck in your other jam as well! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the feedback! I guess if'd add some sweet animations to the King rewind power it would be more viable, but I see why it lacks thematically.

I'm working right now on animations for each piece and a small info page with gif + description for each piece.

Maybe you could try it out when I will release the second version. Anyway, thanks for commenting and I will definitely play your submission.

Yep, I'll definitely play your game

The game is still in light development for the LRZJ, but I'm pretty proud of work.  :)
