Oh I'm glad you liked some of this game, but the complains about the chocolate happen even when the premium soda runs out of stock, too. And speaking of the scanner, there is a massive collider on the cashier's counter so you could've felt like nothing was happening since all the beams were blocked by the collider.
Also I focused on creepy conversations with the owner and the player, which could be the reason the game is pretty confusing for those who couldn't listen to what the owner was saying at the end of every shift.
