Just wanted to share a but how I see the game of this Jam.
I've already played over 50 games, and have started to see some really fun patterns on how people took the idea to a game.
Category 1: Game Show about "What's behind door number X?"
Category 2: Horror games about "There's something that wants to kill me behind that door"
Category 3: Doors are puzzly and move, teleport or do something fun.
Category 4: Story driven  by doors
Category 5: Door roguelikes, this I divide into thee more:
-- Category 5.1: Clear the room, choose a door
-- Category 5.2: Many doors, one gets you out, the others have items, dangers and enemies
-- Category 5.3: Hordes are coming from a door, brace yourself.
Category 6: Escape the room!
EDIT: Category 7: Simple Highscore!

Do you agree? Do you see another Category?
I think our game is in Category 3. Where do you see yours?

Interesting take. I feel like most games are Horror games. But also I don't think our game really fits in one of those named Categories. Maybe Category 7: simple highscore :P

I agree!

Mine is a horror game mixed with escape style, so I would say 2 and 6?

Maybe horror is theming and Escape Room is mechanic? Maybe horror is not a correct category, maybe it is... I agree with you

interesting viewpoint about it being theming vs mechanic, honestly I get what you鈥檙e saying and I think it could go either way
