The use of color and general environment makes for a great place to hang out. Initially I had the impression that this would be a high-energy parkour runner with dimension swapping elements. However, the music gives the impression of a much more chill platforming experience.

Either way is great, but I think that either eliminating the timer in favor of a points system or amping up the urgency of the music would bring more cohesion to the experience.

Regardless, great work!

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback!

Regarding the score rather than timer, that was the original plan, but it had to be cut due to issues during development. I'm glad you pointed it out though as it was something I also thought would work really well. There were many features that had to be sacrificed due to the issues, with the score counter being one, but I'm really happy to hear you enjoyed other elements!

Its super challenging but fun to play , idea is great you can update visuals the mode change , you can use better vfx.

Developer

Funny you suggest that, that was one of the original ideas that unfortunately had to be cut. Switching visuals with the mode would be a great immersion factor, will definitely think about using that in future projects due to your comment!

Thank you so much for playing!

Cool idea, reminded me of Mirror's Edge. Could definitely see it being expanded into a full speed running game.

Developer

Mirrors Edge was definitely in inspiration! I didn't want us to copy it exactly though so we'd have a more unique look.

Thank you for playing!

Made it to the stair bit in about 16:04. Good on you for using Unreal too, you're a lot braver than I am.

Developer

Thank you for playing our game! Well done on 16 minutes!

Developer

WARNING: There was a stair missing and the game may not be completable. Being the only person who tested the game, I missed it. There was an error where sometimes things went missing in the sublevels, and this is likely one of those cases. I have a build with the fix, but can't upload it due to this being a game jam submission. Once you find the missing stair on the back of a building to the right of the map, you win. A fix will be uploaded once I can do so after the jam ends.

Fine idea for a game, I found it to be a bit too difficult, especially with the map being so large and hard to render on my machine.

Developer

Thank you for playing our game! I'm glad you mentioned it was difficult as that was a part of the plan, but we did intend to have a route that was "easier", but if that was also too difficult then that would have to be revisited. We also aimed to have the game completable in under 5 minutes, which is totally possible without making any mistakes. We did consider a checkpoint system but decided against, but if players find it too long without then that would be something to consider in future projects.

As for struggling to render on your machine, what are your specs? I have a relatively old PC with 2018 parts. I have a GTX 1660 with an AMD Ryzen 7 2700 and 32gb of RAM, and it runs perfectly fine so I'll add that as minimum specs. I'd love to compare to see if I can identify the issue.

Thank you again!
