Describe How Your Entry Fits the Jam's Theme
We wanted to use both what we interpreted as the implied meaning of “bug” (an error or unintended functionality in a program) and the literal meaning (an insect) to create a tight narrative horror with ARG elements.

Did you create all of your art/sound/music as a part of the game jam?
Wanting to dedicate as much time as possible to making sure the transition between a 2D and 3D environment worked, we relied on various tilemaps to create our promotional material and 2D environments. However our music, our logo, our voice over, and our character and enemy sprites were all made by team members within the duration of the Jam. Here is a list of premade assets we used. EventManager (This was made for another project our studio is working on, prior to the jam.) Meadow Tile Palettes created by Curtis (our programmer) Dungeon Tile Set created by Raouii (raouii.deviantart.com) Fantasy Background Art provided by OpenGameArt.org Font "Press Start 2p" by Codeman38

Thank you to everyone who played and commented on our game, we really appreciate you taking the time to help us grow as developers!

To address the connection to the theme: We had originally planned for there to be a twist in the 2D ending of the game where the player needs to run through all the previous areas and finds dead corpses in the place of all the bugs that were slain, which would have tied into the narrative that was being played out in the 3D world. That, other world building sequences, and more focus in the level design that made use of the debug menu as a main mechanic were unfortunately scrapped for time, but we intend on making them functional when we work on a more polished version after the judging is completed.

Also, thank you for all the compliments for the transition from 2D to 3D, we were particularly proud of that. :)

this game is dope. I love the presentation jumping from 2D to 3D is trippy in the best way possible. Love to see an expansion of this.

We're so glad you liked it, thank you!

Really  cool how the escape key brings you into the 3D world. It's reminiscent of the asylum demon from Dark Souls 1. Very creative.

Thank you so much!

Really liked the 2D to 3D transformation, cool stuff!
Although I'm not sure I can follow the theme of this game.
Also maybe some other thing to note, the game was weirdly lacking in audio, not sure if it was because of the time constraint or something.

But cool project nonetheless!

The game looks cool, reminded of a similar old one where you have to scare people with ghosts. The girl's laughter to this music really scared me. You did well.

Thank you so much for the kind words!
