Hi guys, we're a bit late to the jam, but happy to be here. As I am sure most of you did, the first thing I did was consult chatGPT for some ideas. Then I used it to compose this next conclusion:
---
Hey fellow jammers,
I've been using AI to help with brainstorming for our "opposing forces" theme, and it came up with some interesting ideas. While these concepts are promising, I realized that the true magic happens when I bounce ideas back and forth with my game jam partner. Their unique perspective and creativity really make the process genuine and fun. Though, I think that the most valuable part comes from how the AI asks probing questions, challenging my assumptions and making me think deeper about my ideas. So I value it more as a sounding board rather than a creativity engine.
Here are 5 ideas the AI generated for me:
1. A character that manipulates polarity.
2. A world where time can be controlled.
3. A game that revolves around the balance of life and death.
4. Manipulating the forces of order and chaos.
5. Controlling two elemental guardians, like fire and water.
I'm curious, what kind of results did you guys get from using AI in your game development process? Let me know!
Happy jamming!

Anyway, even that took longer than simply writing down my thoughts. I realize that a lot of it comes from not knowing how to prompt it well. Basically, though I think I'd get somewhere with it eventually, and though it definitely did influence my thinking to a degree, in the end, we chose our ideas above its suggestions. It's supposed to make the tedious fun (imo), but coming up with the ideas IS the fun part. But I must say, every time I use it, I'm speechless at how good it is.
Are you using a AI generated idea?
