Can the game contain optional power-ups making the game longer?

For example, I’m making a platformer, where player can collect a power-up which will add 1 second to the timer. Is this in compliance with the rules?

Hello there, I also thought of this before... And, I guess it's against the rules since the theme says "Exact 20 seconds" means neither less than 20 seconds nor more than 20 seconds. Hope this helps! Cheers, Shady Night

Hi Maratonec. As Shady Night said, the idea is to try to think of ways to fit the gameplay into a 20 second game. So power-ups that extend the game are not really in the spirit of the jam. We would not disqualify a game that does this though. There is already at least one game in this year's jam that lets you collect extra time.

Okay, thanks for the reply.
