Difficulty? Too easy too hard? What would you recommend?

I think that the difficulty of the game is good. It was a little hard without the close range attack, but once that is added in I think the difficulty will be good.

Fun & Replayability?

I enjoyed the game, and in particular I liked trying to decide how to approach the enemies in a way that would create 1 on 1 encounters. I think that most of the replayability would come from playing the game until you get to the ending, and I think that is good.

Is the goal of the game intuitive? What would you recommend adding, removing, or changing?

I think that goal is pretty intuitive and I like how it easy to spot where the documents are due to their animation. I would recommend some kind of indicator when damage is taken besides the health bar just to make it a little more clear when a player or enemy takes damage. This could be something like the player or enemy flashing red when they get hit.

The game was fun and satisfying to play! The breakcore is a funny choice of background music! I think the only major issues I would have is that the surprise attack at the fax machine was kinda abrupt, maybe if there was a way to have them come at waves while you are holding position at the machine? I also think maybe an extra weapon or enemy types might spice things up? Otherwise, it is a load of fun.

I thought this game was super fun. I completed it on the second try. My only real complaint is collisions for the desks and rooms and things like that. I disagree with the people saying that you need HP regen I think that takes away the skill cap from the game overall. If you can't finish its because you're playing it poorly it's fairly beatable. I think the bounce back covers the HP difference. If you hit your shot you're going to live which I think is perfect. I would suggest maybe making some faster and some stronger. Or if you already did that maybe make it so we can distinguish them. Overall though I enjoyed it a lot. Great job!

I think the difficulty is at a satisfying level right now. I was dying a lot the first few times I played before I realized I could spam the staple gun, but now it's just a good level of challenging. The enemy knockback makes the gameplay a lot more manageable. Speaking of the staple gun, I really like the aesthetic and concept of the gun and the whole game in general. I think it would be cool if the enemies’ weapons were also office-related like the gun.

I think there’s replayability up until you beat the game. To have more replayability maybe adding a timer and keeping track of your best times would incentivize players to keep playing to try and beat their best time. More variety in general would also help the replayability.

I think the game is very intuitive, as there are visual indicators and the concept is simple. I think adding more office mainstays / enemies might elevate the concept even more. Perhaps enemies made from inanimate objects made animate (just an idea)?

I think overall the game feels great I also think that the ranged weapon makes the game a bit easier I think adding ammo you have to manage could be a good way to incentivize using the melee option. Everything like the art and animations also worked really well.

Hello, Papercuts Team!

Overall I loved your game, I had a ton of fun watching others play it and playing it myself. The art you made and or found works great and honestly was just super enjoyable. Below I left my responses to your requested feedback, again great job, I can't wait to see the final version!

Difficulty? Too easy too hard? What would you recommend?

I think your difficulty is almost spot on, I think the ranged weapon is much easier than the melee one you showed in class, I was never able to get the melee weapon to work, unfortunately. I also, died to that final boss wave, they spawned on top of me, maybe moved them to another spawn location?

Fun & Replayability?

The replayability is great here, I ran through the game 3 times, and I could see others doing it more if you had additional levels. As for "fun" that is relative to each player, I found it fun personally.

Is the goal of the game intuitive? What would you recommend adding, removing, or changing?

The goal was clear and made since from the start, find papers, don't die, and follow arrows. The only thing is maybe tell us why we are here. Why do we have to fax the papers? Maybe a little intro screen would help with that. I would maybe add another level if you guys have time before the final release, at least one more.

This game remind me of the Pokemon game, and one thing I would recommend is to add healing items.

I enjoyed your game, I especially like the design of it. It felt difficult at first with not knowing where the enemies were and learning the gun mechanics. For the nail gun, I would make the projectile slightly bigger that way I can easily see where my bullets are going since there is no reticle. I would also make the nail gun a pickup item midway through the level since the starting area is open because it felt kind of easy dealing with the starting enemies with the nail gun. I also noticed that the enemy would sometimes get stuck on obstacles when chasing me. if you decide to further develop the game it would be cool to see more levels and different enemy types. Overall you guy did a great job designing and executing this game.

Hey there PAPERCUTS team, I really enjoyed your game. I love the art design and the assets that you used. I was wondering if there would be any music in the background to offset the constant gun noise.  Another thing is will there be any healing type item to allow the players to heal during the game or maybe even before the faxing wave. I did also notice that sometimes when shooting the enemies, the sometimes bounce into the player doing a lot more damage. Lastly are the documents spawned randomly around the office and will there always be an equal number of documents needed to finish the game/day. Maybe if the player gets some extra documents, they can trade it or heal items?

Difficulty? Too easy too hard? What would you recommend?

I find the game to be just right in my opinion. There are a good number of enemies and a good number of documents that you have to collect. I was wondering though will there be other types of enemies too with different weapons.

Fun & Replayability?

Yes, this game is fun. For replayability I think having different levels with documents spawning at different areas in the office would make it really replayable.  And maybe even different items that the player could use.

Is the goal of the game intuitive?

Yes.

Suggestions:

  • Background music
  • Healing item
  • Random document generation? (Extra used for healing?)

my bad I didnt know there was sound. maybe try turning it up?
