Description
Depths of the earth is a game about surviving and retrieving special crystals. You play as a android that has to go in the depths of a military bunker to retrieve alien energy crystals. Complete each level before your battery dies. You are not armed. Use your memory to memorize the exit elevators. Various actions deplete your batteries faster. Compatible with OUYA Controllers as well as other OUYA Everywhere controller sets. Button config: O - Run U - Attack A - Flashlight (Uses Batteries)

Ambivalent about this, on one side the game feels like a lot of work was put in it (much detail, intro sequence, overworld/elevator) but on the other it is missing stuff like indicators where to go, so its easy to miss something and lose interest in the game. I'd like to play this again with the planned quality of life enhancements later. :)

The menu and intro were very slow and stuttering.

Then I was on the planet, and had no idea what I had to do. I wandered around a bit, nothing happened, and then I exited the game.

Looks good and sounds good.

Played the game 4 times didn't make it to the elevator once.

Here are somethings I thought about when playing the game...

Constructive feedback:

Player's grid based movement isn't satisfying.

This ends up worse when you see the bugs can move in any angle.

Why did I die? - Ok, my energy depletes (maybe signal this with sound or blinking)

The starting point isn't the elevator exit? - Then I died...

Which elevator is the exit, what does it look like? (I think it's the green one)

Had to search for it before going on to look for the crystal. (I think this take the fun out because instead of looking for something cool - the crystal - I have to look for the elevator first)

Maybe the elevator could be the starting point or near the starting point ...

Retrying takes a little too long so in this build so it helps build some frustation.

Heya! This was soo a alpha and work came before finishing this out. There will be a QOL and polish update as well as a cinematic to explain things for clarity sake.  Will also make retrying go a bit faster.

I found the gameplay a bit confusing on my first play.  Just wandered around and wasn't sure what the objective was or if I was doing anything useful or just walking around.  Will give it a second go.

Interested to try this out.
