Love, love, love this. No person is an island, and this game demonstrates that by showing the absurdity of the little selfish things we care about in spite of a larger whole that we are naturally connected to. We care about the chic and hospitality of hotels (even while a storm is brewing, or if we need to eliminate a species of fish). We care about the fizz of soda, being able to retire to our cramped cubicle after driving home from work, and making sure our specific luggage doesn't get lost at the airport (even if it requires enormous resources to keep track of). The game reveals the underside of "normalcy" in a soothing way, sedating your sense of despair the same way that television, shopping, and tourism does. But maybe nature can retake the spaces we've claimed in the name of rugged individualism - and maybe we can relinquish our need for our own little patch of land, and share it instead.
