I've already played Emily 1 and Emily Too, so i'm no stranger to Kyle Seeley's games. I had high expectations, and I was quite satisfied with this title.
I'd already purchased the Steam version, but then I heard about this version that allowed more profile customization. That's pretty neat, even if I don't recognize all the images in their pixelated forms haha. I've binged this game several times over the last week, and it never fails to make me emotional even though I'm too young for the era of Facebook portrayed. The feeling of high school conversations and emotional stress, regardless of my age, is something I remember and rings quite true.
I do wish the game didn't feel so linear --- the characters' names are different, but the plot contours are very similar. But then I have to remember that Kyle's games are one-man efforts and that many teenagers really are this similar, no matter how "unique" they think they are. For that, I commend you immensely. Still, maybe it's time to consider getting even a small team together to spread the workload and free yourself up to make even more immersive games.
Overall, great work! Maybe we'll get an Emily 4? I know there's certainly desire out there (see Reddit). More Mat! (what a bro)
