Honestly, it's been a while since I've enjoyed something like this.
Friend recommended, thought to look at it and honestly, I love it.
There's this section on memory that I feel really shifts how I interpret the internal narration of our protagonist -- it acts as the undercurrent beneath the forward, direct and beautiful exchanges in this comic. If anything, it is more telling and honest about how these memories are perceived :-)
As for the art, the
paneling + amazing expressions are really effective and build up to the
great quips in this comic. It's a personal preference, but the more
miniaturized, 'toony' than Brokow's usual work has been something I've
loved to see. The lines are just so bouncy and cute, I love it.
