This game had brilliant atmosphere. The combination of the music which at times was soothing but also unerving, the darkness and the retro graphics, it was all great. A lot of eldritch and lovecraftian media doesn't quite capture that stuff well, but this game is an exception and definitely is unerving for the first half. i'd give a higher score but i was honestly a bit dissapointed because all of this build up didn't really lead to a big horrifying or surprising payoff, which is something i see with a lot of good horror games which could be even greater if their atmosphere led to something grander or surprising by the end. Regardless of this, the dev/devs still did a really great job, i was definitely a bit disturbed which is something hard to do for me!
