There's been a lot of retro VHS horror about but this smartly timed, hallucinogen drenched spook house deserves a boost for a couple of reasons. First, it's not just name dropping the Davids in the blurb to look cool- the exit through the Thing Behind The Bookcase suggests someone had Videodrome in heavy rotation and the "bad" exit through the screen is a bit like becoming trapped in the Black Lodge. Secondly, both the odd  "ban"- on the basis apparently of the archaic 1950s exploitation footage used- the sort of thing that's primarily a source of bemused historical interest (even when not made intentionally jarring as it is here) and the heavy emphasis on the VHS element in the trailer may lead potential players to jump to conclusions about the content here. I think it's safe to say that whatever you're expecting, you're in for a weird shock.
