laptopsuc rated Mangia!

A browser game made in HTML5.

Simple and easy to get into, though it can feel like an endurance test. The reward for keeping up long chains is only filling up the bonus bar faster (so getting the "best" endings faster). And given how large a chain you have to build to make a noticeable difference, it definitely has that arcade-like sting when you screw up once and lose it all. Thankfully your bonus level (not bar) is saved so you can take a break and come back when you like.

I wasn't sure what the difference was between difficulties. The Options reset to their defaults whenever you go back to the main menu which I think messed with what was turned on/off (I'll sometimes get the popping ending when I swore I turned it off).

But I overall enjoyed it. The art and sound are great. Despite the simple gameplay, there is some surprising risk-reward strategy that emerges between using "window dog" or "floor dog". Looking back at the original Mangia, I'm surprised how much was already there. So the additions of looking at your belly and the endings feel oddly natural.
