This was such a lovely story, I thoroughly enjoyed every part of it and I could definitely relate it to a lot of the friendships I've made.  I used to make a lot of friends on this pet collecting site called chickensmoothie. They got me through a lot of heavy times, and lore distance relationship made me reminisce those days a lot. :) Pair that with the fact that my current partner is long distance and we're currently making plans to move me over to her place, and this story hit pretty darn close. I met her back in 2013, on Nintendo's now dead social media, Miiverse of all places! The internet truly is a wild west, but there are some genuinely good relationships and friendships to be had here, too.
