Bogdan D.F.D. Gheorghiu rated Last Word

A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

This is possibly the most underrated game I've played so far.

As in, it's UNBELIEVABLY GOOD, and nobody has ever heard of it. Keep in mind that I played it on Steam, not here, so I'm comparing it to the mainstream market.

It has substance in every way, gameplay and narrative interlink nicely (though the discourse gameplay _could_ be more meaningful to the theme, but that's comparing it to an ideal; if comparing it to what games exist out there, it outshines most), the minimalistic art style serves to not get in the way of the experience, the WRITING IS ABSOLUTELY GREAT, also I can't say it fits any established genre. Sure, I'd call it an adventure/puzzle game, but that tag doesn't communicate the actual mechanics, which are unique.

Basically, if you enjoy games as mechanical systems that generate (narrative) meaning - particularly single player story-based ones - and you don't mind reading instead of hearing stuff being said, this is one of the ABSOLUTE BEST experiences you can immerse yourself in.

9.5/10
