ClaireIsBored rated The Mind's Eclipse

A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

An excellent visual novel. Didn't even notice how much time had passed until I looked at the clock after I had finished.  I've probably only ever seen a few pieces of media that followed the trope of an amnesiac waking up in a world that's falling apart, only to discover that not only are they the one who made it that way, but also are the only one who can fix it.

The game does a good job tackling the topics of love, sacrifice, and loss and helped give me some perspective on a loss I had recently experienced prior to playing this. I am going to state that there are clichés, but not because they're a problem -- every story contains clichés and the ones used in "The Mind's Eclipse" were used well and they added to the depth of the story instead of detracting from it. The artwork and soundtrack were phenomenal and did an excellent job conveying emotion throughout. I want to applaud everyone who helped work on this because I honestly believe that this is one of the best games/kinetic novels I've played.
