Planet Stronghold 2 is everything we could wish for in a sequal.

A continuation of the great story arc with satesfying endings.

More time with our lovely and roudy companions and allies.

A better Class system for combat , passives and social situations.

A creation and upgrading system for weapons, armor and items.

An upgraded tactical combat sections with automanted settings as well as options to adjust on the fly like battle animation speed.

An no you do not need to have played the first game first. you custumize your start up in Planet Stronghold 2 to fit how you play or if you just want to try something else.
All in all I would say it is the perfect Sequal for Planet Stronghold 1.
