Robotticelli rated Pocket Watch

A downloadable game for Windows and macOS.

A tiny little adventure game about a duck destined to save an island from an angry volcano spirit. Luckily, the duck obtains a magical pocket watch, allowing it to restart the same day over and over until it completes its quest. If you've played MINIT, you've got an idea of what you're in for, but the laid-back island vibe adds a touch of ANIMAL CROSSING.

The environment is self-contained, charming, and deceptively detailed; there are quite a few things to do on Vulcano Island. The quest is straightforward enough (as long as you talk to the snail) and the world feels interesting to explore. The only real con, which is very minor considering the price and short dev cycle, is a lack of polish in some places. Contextual button prompts are jammed together too close, making for finicky navigation, and the small bits of platforming sprinkled throughout can likewise become tedious quite easily.

Still, those are tiny nitpicks, and POCKET WATCH is a cute, exciting adventure perfect for wiling away an afternoon, well worth the price of admission.
