This is a nice little booklet, with some good general advice regarding making and using NPCs in your games, the prompts are clear and evocative, the illustrations are nice and using the tables has generated some NPCs I'm eager to use in upcoming games.

I only really have two small issues with it as a tool. Firstly, a few of the results on some tables are a little too specific, making characters with those traits harder to slip into an existing setting and more suited to having a story built around them - a necklace of teeth or glowing mushrooms growing on you, for example. It's good if you need a plothook NPC but less so if you need an ordinary inkeeper or guard. Secondly, this is very much a *fantasy RPG* NPC generator, so even the core appearance and personality tables contain some stuff you'll have to skip or re-roll if you're running a low/no magic setting or system.

Overall though this is pretty useful, and will certainly give you enough NPCs to warrant the purchase. I'd love to see another like it for Sci-Fi and other settings in future!
