An Oath in Kind is like soaking into a warm, comforting bath at the end of a hard day. It's just good, solid lesbian fiction with images and sound; the character sprites are delightful and expressive, the music expressive and atmospheric, the story contained but deliciously full of potential and promise. I was really desperate for Claire and Galena to get together from the first, and the story has plenty of escalating tension and tasty angst during its runtime.

Fans of hurt/comfort, pining and the navigation of positions of power will really appreciate how the romance between the two leads unfolds, and there's even some good meat in the backgrounds for fans of tragedy (especially in the post-game bonus content, which was a lovely surprise.) 

This story is a great antithesis to being let down by mainstream fiction's handling of lesbian relationships. The chapters are digestible enough that I could easily sit down and get through two or three in a sitting each night after work. Download it, pour yourself a cup of your favorite hot beverage and get stuck in. Treat yourself!
