This is one of the scariest, most unsettling games I have ever played.

The game is exactly what it says it is: you enter a house, find audio tapes, and listen to them.  Using this simple gameplay loop, the game builds a strongly foreboding atmosphere, as the house breaks down and changes over the course of each re-entry.  It builds and builds, never resorting to cheap jump scares or monsters.  As a result, the game burrows into you, creating a sense of dread and fear that follows you through your own home, well after you've played, finished, uninstalled, and finally burned the computer you played it on.

In this, the audio design dominates.  From the distortion effects to the eerie monologues to the closing of doors, the soundscape controls the experience.  The art in the game is also a major factor, with paintings and pictures that match and change with the mood created.  This game is pure atmosphere, chilling you to the bone, leaving you feeling utterly at its mercy.

Anatomy is, without a doubt, one of the most uniquely terrifying games I've ever played.  Highly recommend, looking forwards to my next playthrough and subsequent couple nights without sleep.
