Amazing escape room game, I used around 1 hour without hints but finding the murderer really took me a while truthfully...
I originally thought most of the suspects were inconclusive, not enough evidence to prove them to be the killer. While I was intrigued what the potion (in the inventory with barely any indication as to what it does or why it's there) from the Poisoner and the contraptions that were asked from the Inventor from the Detective were, it truly did not occur to me that this was all along their doing simply because "it's an escape game of course there's clues and answers for every lock and other problems here" even while I picked up on both the murderer and the theme of all the codes/clues being about the moon.
I thought this was some kind of advanced play from the killer to "stop the detective from arresting them" though it still bugged me why this would be a doable escape game then. I can't tell if I'm too oblivious or I just thought this was too much of a game to truly realise it.
So yes, from the start because of the fact there was the option of inputting someone else and I didn't truly believe it was one of the suspects (from all the clues gathered, I was suspicious of whoever gazed intensenly at the painting but I couldn't figure out who was it) but I had no idea who else it could be since apart from random people's name and their pictures on the right side I couldn't think of anyone else (but I did check all of them afterwards just in case).
It's only when I reread the Detective's diary along with the painting in mind that I truly understood the truth... (I had completely forgotten about the key being inside the shoe after 5 minutes of playing even if I told myself at the start "Huh? that's weird.")
At first I was in disbelief, if you knew all along it was you why not make a note of it and put it next to you for when you wake up? Or drink the potion right after being chained if it can make you sleep "for days"? (Or was the amnesia caused by a small dose of it? I don't know...)
In the end, I guess the first one is that they simply had a hunch and chose not to truly believe it as indicated in the epilogue, for the second I'm assuming they thought they didn't need it and would come back to reason, I suppose.
I liked both endings aswell as the haunting and mysterious music from the main menu which is quite fitting for the era described.
Anyways as I said before, it was an amazing escape game which I like even more because of the way the suspects are titled, the link to werewolf and the Moon and the murder mystery settings all in one but also because the pictures were part of it to enhance the writing and puzzles aswell! And while the puzzles were not too hard in my opinion, that does not mean I didn't like it far from it! I guess this escape game taught me to immerse myself in the game's setting more and stop thinking about it as "game logic" or maybe keep a more open mind during games requiring deductions in a sense.
