Dwarf Fortress is exactly what gaming should be about. Complex gameplay, a large amount of game features to explore, emergent storytelling and a whole lot of FUN - with plenty of retro 80s gaming vibes to boot. The ASCII mode is king, the dwarves are moody, the battles are ruthless, the animal people are as rare as a shiny pokemon and the plump helmets are delicious. Not a game for the faint of heart or casual gamer.
