The story starts of okay, but gets better as the chapters progress. Although it contains a lot of cliché's.
Normally a 3.5, it does what is sets out to do pretty well, it just isn't a very complex story nor a very nuanced one.
BUT, it has fallen into the same trap Anime/Manga (inspired) media often does when dealing with the topic of slavery. On one hand the protagonist is portrayed as being above this horrible practice, but at the same time, he only pushes back against "cruel" slave owners (ownership is cruel to start with, but anyway), keeping the practice going even when he gains power, buys slaves when it is convenient for him, and punishes his enemies by enslaving them.
2.5-3 stars
If this game was anything but anime inspired it would have rightly faced serious backlash for its' portrayal of one of humanities most disgusting practices.
