siren rated Apple bag [demo 2.0]

siren rated a game 13 days ago
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

I enjoyed this game for what it was, but there was a lot that also disappointed me about it. To start positive, the aesthetic and direction of this game is adorable. I loved how stylistic the art style was, and all the characters were super endearing upon meeting them! As a girl who loves apples, romance vns, and horror vns, this game spoke to me immediately. Despite the positives, I finished the run through with disappointment. Firstly, it's a pet peeve of mine when games don't directly say they're demos. I know this definitely has a lot to do with game interaction and traction, but I always feel less inclined to play and engage with something if it leaves me off on a cliffhanger. My biggest complaint however, has to do with the save files. While playing Leila's route, I was under the perception that choosing the "stay home" option would result in a bad ending. Instead, it closed the game automatically and resulted in no progress or gallery unlocks. Rather, it erased all of my save progress from my run through. Even if it's a demo and didn't take too long to reach my original point in the story, it still annoyed me and my friends I played with quite a lot. I have faith that this game can grow and develop these issues with it's full release, but my experience playing the demo was sort of bittersweet.
