It's a great game! For $5 it's a crazy amount of work & content, the story is enjoyable and the art is charming. I enjoyed it a lot, and the creepy vibe was enough to keep me feeling tense throughout.

There are a lot of choices to be made in the story that feel significant, but there isn't as much payoff for them as I would have liked. There's sort of an implication throughout that the Essences could be used to 'revive' certain characters, and there's even a choice right at the end where the player is able to trade in all of the essences for a powerful weapon. I'd have liked the choice to do that, or not, to feel more significant than it was; it doesn't appear to really matter either way within the story.
