Amazing remake. If you've played the GameBoy Color original, then you will appreciate the upgrades, that only slightly change the game for the better, so that there is no grinding with subtank fill ups, and to be actually able to designate a button to dashing that is comfortable, unlike the original. The new additions did surprise me, but at least the dev was generous enough to grant you a subtank refill, if you use them all before the last secret boss, as it will catch you by surprise. The only real flaw if any, is that you cannot use the Zero summon Giga attacks that were in the GBC which were slightly helpful for extra damage, as what this game made instead was to make Zero playable once beating the game, once you collected the capsules that used to grant you the Giga Attacks. I tried Zero, and he feels ok, but without his Xtreme 2 moveset he just feels incomplete, and none of the bosses grant Zero any extra abilities if you defeat them as him, which is a little disappointing, but understandable as he is an easter egg character of sorts. Perhaps in the future we can get a Zero New Game+ where he gets his own dialogues, and abilities from defeating the bosses, as well as a Rakuhouha that works like the X4 one, since the one he currently has, does not fill up the ammo when taking damage. As a fan game the possibilities are endless, since its not bound by the limitations of the original, so I can only hope the dev might consider all the feedback.
