Groundhoggoth rated Arcana Academy

A downloadable RPG.

This really isn't complete enough to play; it uses a freeform magic system but doesn't give any sample spells, and it mentions advancement/improvement, but barely gives an outline for doing so.

The presentation of the game makes me think it's aimed at younger players or newcomers, with an extensive 'intro to RPGs' chapter that takes up a quarter of the book, but the lack of guidance in some areas would only make it suitable for experienced players who are used to making stuff up with minimal guidelines.

There's some nice ideas in here, like the relationship system, and the artwork is lovely, but it doesn't seem like a complete game; it's more like some ideas you could use to hack pretty much any other PbtA game to give it a 'magical school' setting, which leaves a lot of work on the MC.
