Soulcreek is obviously a labour of love and I'm so grateful to the authors for making this available for free for everyone to enjoy. The worldbuilding is conducted with a deft hand, leaving enough unsaid about the nature of the horrors of the setting to make them genuinely unsettling. The characters have their own sympathetic motivations rather than being simply good or bad, my favourite being the cheerfully foul-mouthed Takhi. Music, visual effects and writing are used to create a strong sense of atmosphere throughout. (Edit three years later, after completion: All the above still applies, but it gets more filmic as it goes along.)
