Wagyu_Dev rated Weapon, Armor, & Shield SFX

Wagyu_Dev rated a asset pack 45 days ago
A downloadable asset pack.

A lot of good sounds in this. Some could be more impactful but my favorite is the shield block. I do have some feedback for yall when it comes to the presentation and delivery of this asset pack:

  • Some of these are a little too quiet. When making sound effects for games, it's better to be too loud than it is to not be loud enough. I don't know about other engines but in Unity, you can't increase the volume of an audio source above 100%. So if the base volume of an audio file is too quiet then it's a hassle for the user to have to manually amplify that sound with another software
  • I suggest adding downloads for different file formats. Most people use .wav for short sfx and only use mp3 for longer audio or music. You can afford to use wav (uncompressed, lossless) for short audio
  • Some of the metal sounds are not distinct enough from one another and they sort of blend together. I also feel like the file names fail to describe what the sounds actually are
  • Not really a fan of the wood hits. When you read "Wood Hit" in an asset pack for weapons, you'd expect to hear a weapon hitting a wooden surface instead of a simple cross stick. The wood hit combos also sound more like 2 pebbles hitting each other
  • I really recommend spending time on the itch page some more to make it look more professional. It's actually super fun and people will be more inclined to give it a chance

Overall, I can see myself using these and I respect y'all for recording your own sounds. Best of luck, keep at it and I'm sure y'all will be able to start selling these!
