Looks awesome! Interesting mechanic with moving the boat. One suggestion might be to use an indicator thats easier to keep timing with while you are looking at whats in front of you.
One thing I ran into was that the camera was constantly trying to snap to different positons and would often get stuck at a view looking from the front of the bow back at the character, which made navigation a little tricky at times. Not sure if anyone else experienced that!
