This was a super fun little experience! A clean design, with rewards for exploration, a sense of discovery in the finding of destructible walls, a cool look, and solid controls. ^_^
(Plus the first appearance of the hieroglyph-enemies made for a nice moment of surprise!)
I had a few niggles:
- The hieroglyph enemies, being quite powerful, made for nasty surprises when they spawned behind me--primarily because I generally only found out about them when they took a chunk from my health. A spawning-sound might have helped here, I feel.
- After gaining maximum power the upgrade-gems no longer provided a reward.
- The fireballs, while cool, lacked feedback on hitting enemies. An explosion might have helped here.
Still, these were minor complaints! Overall, I found the game to be rather well-made! ^_^
Plus, it was a nicely-nostalgic experience for me: I was much reminded of playing "Catacomb: Abyss" (I think that it was) many years ago! ^_^
