Really good stuff, quality is top notch. I'm honestly quite surprised this didn't blow up, but I can see why...
The story is simple, we're in a spooky place where there's a train station and creepy stuff happens, but... You did a excellent job making the game really interesting in a lot of parts, like when we need to spell nowhere and when we are getting chased by the thing... Even thought that part is a bit too hard, since you can easily mess up, and coming back to the start is not that fun sometimes.
Also LOVE how we can learn about everything around us little by little from the thing, and how much personality all of the characters in this creepy station have... I wish you told us a bit more about that trashcan thingie or whatever it is though lol.
Talking about the chase and spelling... This was quite unexpected, it was nice seeing something different than just choices honestly. It adds a lot of uniqueness and charm to the game overall.
The graphics are one of the two reasons why the game stands out so much. It's creepy, terrifying, but also beautiful in a way. Really love the animations as well, simple, but it adds a charm to the game in the most perfect way possible.
The sound is the second reason, this game would definitely not be the same without it. The thing calling himself was honestly the best part of the game LOL, aside from the bathroom one of course. Really love the music too, simple but it has a nice melody to it. ;p
This is going to my favorites for sure, you did a beautiful job on it. Now for the reason why this didn't get much attention... The thing is literally the star of this show, and you didn't even put him in the thumbnail of the game's store...
There's obviously some examples of games that don't do that like John Doe, but I think you could attract a lot of people just by doing this. It's like Steam, if the banner is not appealing, no one would click on it, and there's not a lot going on here.
Even if you do change stuff, the opportunity to grow and attract a lot of people has been lost already, since this was posted almost a week ago and all, so I think posting it again with changes would be wise. I think making a update would be smart, so you can call this page the outdated version.
I have some update ideas for you... Actually, I did found some bugs that might be worth looking into it. You can update the game this way.
- I noticed that if a controller is connected, it doesn't move properly to where you want, making it difficult to choose where to go if you're using only a mouse... I have drift on mine, so dunno if that's on me or not lol. It would be nice if the game had full controller support by the way, it gives more exposure for people that only play with it.
- If you make the game fullscreen, and open OBS after, the mouse cursor simply just disappear for no reason. This doesn't really get in the way of the game at all, but would be nice if you looked into it. :3
- Just a feedback, but I think you should lock the tips behind how many times someone has played the game... Just giving tips about the point system is fine to me, but actually showing the correct and right answer is a bit too much, unless they already played the game a lot. If the game has 3 endings, I think 3 playthroughs before giving them the answers for the endings is good enough for me, this way they get rewarded for trying at least. >.>
Anyway, I'm talking a bit too much here lol, great game! Not sure what your plans are, but if your next game has the same quality as this one, I will definitely check it out! Maybe we can finally see Ms. Thing in the next one, huh? xD
Beautiful work, and good luck with your next game!
