I remember picking up a physical version of this game quite a while ago at GenCon. As per the rules of the game, I can’t share with you the journal I created from it, but I think that that encouragement to keep the story tucked away and secret was an excellent way to create a safe space in which I could explore transgressive art.
More games have followed in the footsteps of this one, which is just what I wanted. While playing, I continued to marvel that I’d never heard of or played something like this before. But the mechanics are much easier to imagine than to replicate: these prompts are dripping with the kind of provocative horror that is harder to ignore than to respond to. If you’ll allow yourself, you’ll fill up a journal of your own very quickly playing it, and you will end up with an electric secret of your own.
