A browser game made in HTML5.
Okay so I really really like the art style and the concept of the spherical arena. Excellent visuals, But I feel like the game itself is severely undercooked. Is this an alpha? If that's the case, y'all should label it as such, or maybe add DEMO to the title. This reminds me of a turn based prototype I made for a college assignment. Same mistakes and everything.
What could be improved:
- Audio
- Sound effects just need more polish. Some things that should have sound don't
- Not a fan of the music. Doesn't really fit the game at all. Poor choice of instruments. Doesn't match what's happening on screen.
- Gameplay
- Onboarding
- You should exercise restraint with the number of enemies on the first level to ease the player into the game.
- Wall of texts are sometimes necessary for a tutorial, but don't show all of them at once at the start. Implement a gradual progression.
- Combat
- Enemies' turn take too long while the player's turn is so short. A large portion of the gametime is the player watching the globe rotates or the camera jumps around to switch focus between enemies. The spherical design makes it really difficult to keep track of where each enemies are and what move they did. The flow of the combat is all over the place.
- The stage progression feels arbitrary. No meaningful choice between routes.
- The "characters" don't feel distinct enough. They're just there to be different.
- Nitpicks
- The color of the top dialog text in the opening sequence needs better contrast with the green background
- "It's okay to skip this intro" that just pisses me off bro like yes it's good communication but I really think this just shows how y'all don't have faith in the story y'all created.
Don't take this the wrong way, I like your games but at the moment I feel like this is not a hit. Y'all really have one of the most unique art styles I've ever seen so I'll still be leaving a 4 star rating on this game. Good luck with future developments.
