Fetch rated SHUT IN

A downloadable game for Windows and macOS.

The dark comedy of the situation was grating at first, but quickly grew on me. Remember that the narrator isn't on your side. It gives you your objective (take care of yourself, get out of the house), then spends most of the game undermining you. It'll belittle you for any mistake, make the very tasks it asks of you sound insurmountable, and encourage you to waste your time. And the whole time, it acts like it's on your side. The passive-aggressive voice carries on through the ending, which I won't spoil, but suffice it to say, the only victory is the one you find yourself, damn what that voice tells you.

Oh, the gameplay. It's good! It's a short point-and-click adventure game where you're expected to die frequently. I did get stuck on a few parts at the end, but I found a guide that covered me on those points. Along the way, that spooky environment (including the great music and sound effects) and narration do a great job selling the psychological horror.
