green rated Blades in the Dark: Deep Cuts

green rated a game 281 days ago
A downloadable game.

Quality stuff, as usual. Lots of interesting things to think about. My group have complained about how fast 'regular' Blades feels to go from competent to can-take-on-all-comers without really even hitting the mid crew tiers, and they are definitely chewing on the slowed advancement in Deep Cuts (no grumbles yet but 5 sessions in and no one has bought an advance despite being somewhat generous to themselves with XP).

One thing I have noticed is that it feels like there is less to do during Downtime now that DT actions have been squashed down to 4. We've been doing more targeted freeplay scenes to fill the gap between downtime/gather info/score, which feels like what this streamlining was meant to do (doesn't stop us spending half a session figuring out which of the 4 moves to use tho).

The other big thing - as someone else mentioned in the comments on this page - is crafting is noticeable by its absence. Either I have missed something, or failed to infer something, but acquire + the old crafting rules don't feel like they mesh together very well.

That aside, even though the group is still having a time getting our heads around some of the shifts in terminology, we're having a blast!
