This is one of the best games I've played. In only about half an hour, we carry through a subversive fantasy adventure. The game incorporates messages about harmful beliefs, the need for self-care, love in all its forms, and exploring ones identity. They're an integral part of the adventure and the mechanics itself. Every battle reinforces these messages. Many of the characters' skills do as well. I was engrossed through the end, wondering what would happen to the protagonist, alternately horrified by his backstory and self-perception, and hopeful about the connections he made. And I couldn't ask for a better ending.
