Minorudato rated Funkelregen

A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Story! This game starts by saying it's lore-heavy, and it's not definitely not a lie. The depth of this world is amazing and I love it. Scenes are pretty nice, story progression and quests are interesting. Even after a week after getting up to date, I still think about that world.

Now, for what I didn't like, it's mainly the story in the last arc of 0.8 with the Time Watcher. That thing made no sense imo. I don't want to spoil it here but it was absurd. Let me give an example without spoiling:

Your job is to make sure you make boxes perfectly rectangular. Then your tool stop working because of reasons, so you have to find a way to fix your tool. You can't fix your tool yourself so instead, you decide to blow up half of the factory and hope that whatever is left will be able to get back to normal and you'll continue to make your boxes, somehow.

I'm sorry what? How does screwing half of your coworkers is a solution to fixing the problem? That person's job is making sure there's no people screwing with what she's protecting, but when she needs help, collateral damage is justified just so that she can continue working? That's screwing with the thing she's tasked to protect itself, she shouldn't make any collateral damage no matter what.

Anyways, the cliffhanger was also very mean (in a good way! It shows the story is compelling).
