OldCaptainWZJ rated Abdec

A downloadable puzzle book.

This is now the puzzle book I've enjoyed the most, period.

I'm usually not great at rule discovery paper puzzles because they tend to rely more on abductive reasoning rather than deductive reasoning, and even more so when there's not even filled examples and you can only rely on unfilled puzzles and the uniqueness of solutions. Though this time around, while I still struggled with some of the more obscure parts of the book, it flows very smoothly on every other part.

For me, this book strikes a perfect balance of abduction and deduction. Me feeling this way could be because this game is "easier" compared to what I've played (FMTC, for example), but I like to think this is because this book is better at teaching me, the player, what is the mosts logical way to think about new rules in this kind of puzzles.

While there are some pretty wild discoveries in there, they don't feel underclued (aside from the most obscure of them). And after discovering the rules, actually solving the puzzles still require logical reasoning, even more so if you are trying to prove the solution is unique, like in most paper puzzles.

Not much to say beside spoilers, so I will just end here. Highly recommended for anyone who loves rule discovery and/or paper puzzles.
