I ate Serious Weakness in a fevered week or so while trapped on a ship with the Navy. It immediately and unwholesomely captivated me. I attempted to get my friends to read it, and they commented on the alienating names selected for the characters and the "indiscernible passage of time" within the novel which, centering on a damage assessor captive in a restroom, is likely an intentional and masterfully executed thing.

When I finished it, despite the 'happy' ending we'll call it, I felt an immense dread in my stomach. The ship served corndogs that day and I felt like it was a strange cosmic joke.
