Kentaro Manedwuff rated UNDER | HEAVEN

A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android.

I, unfortunately, did not enjoy this one. From the very beginning, we're thrown into a world that is never really explained to us, where the mc has a job that is never really explained to us, that involves technology that is never really explained to us, then has an incident that is never really explained to us, and so on. Instead, we're treated to a bunch of scenes that confusingly don't seem to have much of a connection to one another. I don't think I'll be playing the VN again unless the first chapter gets some sort of rewrite to explain the world and its characters and their situation better, or explains anything at all, really.

That said, I do think the problems with this VN are fixable, if you devoted more time to explaining things, such as:

What the mc's job is and how being plugged into a mainframe is an essential part of that.

What happens when someone gets overloaded.

What this virtual world he was in initially actually is.

More about this dome that they're living under.

How the intro plays a part in the story (because as is, a person climbing through a chainlink fence and activating a computer isn't particularly exciting and more confusing than anything else without context).

I understand the motivation to keep a sense of mystery, but there was too much of it, and far more explanation is needed in order to establish a sense of place.
