That cat's gone 100%

This story - though very short - had a solid progression of events that made sense within the timeline presented. Great depiction of paranoia and the dreadful helplessness it brings often. I think this is a small masterpiece: from the characterization sprinkled in swiftly of the protagonist (and the cat); the trauma hinted at and the nuance of one's perception of a 'loved one''s abusive behaviour; the horror elements were effectively executed, they excited me; to the writing, its style complementing the narrative told and the protagonist's POV; the flow of reading majorly easy to follow and the pacing just perfect, the structure of the writing tugging you along. My favourite detail in this work were the tears of the portraits and their reoccurrence. It stuck with me.
