The content warning should include rape, not just the word assault.
The concept is so promising, and there were parts I enjoyed, but I can't say I would recomment this WIP as it is now, and I would certainly give this one a miss if you have any concerns about the content.

I really gave the different options and approaches a go, but the experience left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. The most dissapointing element, which could easily be addressed, is that the sensitive subject matter is not handled well in my opinion. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say that this WIP might benefit from additional/ more varied sensitivity readers.
The MC is forced into, not only proximity, but conversation with their rapist throughout the game, ridiculed and harrassed by them without any option to disengage, either physically or emotionally. There's multiple instances of victim blaming, and if you choose to confront your attacker in any way, the writing and the characters bear down on you, and exclusively you, with extreme prejudice whilst the rapist gets away scot free. At one point, the child in your care plays cards with your rapist, and you watch them have a casual conversation about why the MC is a such a stick in the mud. Hello? Why are we letting this child near them, let alone getting guilt tripped?
The overall tone is inconsistent, frequently undermining anything approaching a sensitive depiction of traumatic events. Any expression of anguish or (justified) anger is promptly dismissed or punished. The MC is written as a perpetual victim, with little to no defences, undeserving of personhood, let alone sympathy. And for the reader this is punishing. Not to mention, there is no deeper exploration into the main character or how they cope/ how they percieve themselves, so there is no justification or headspace for the reader to latch onto.
What I found particularly uncomfortable was the inability to be the slightest bit aloof or socially adept. You're forced to be present, to be a raw nerve, bearing your guts to serve as fodder for the other characters, who constantly scrutinise your every move. It's a shortcut to character interactions that quickly becomes intolerable. Characters force you to divulge your trauma, or churn up your emotions, in scenes that feel unearned, forced, and sometimes downright cruel.
I don't know if it was intentional, but it's like the writer set out to tell a story about a morally grey anti-villain, and then severely course corrected, leaving the reader in the awkward position of having to repent for a life of crime we didn't even get to vicariously enjoy.
The MC and other characters feel very underdeveloped so far, and any explorations of deeper themes aren't yet apparent, but then again this is a WIP.
I was waiting to see some shred of what I hoped would be satisfying action and spy antics, but instead the MC spends the entire run time on the backfoot, with no opportunity to demonstrate their abilities or experience.
