Inversion is a shining example of commitment to a concept, with every aspect of the game thoughtfully and painstakingly designed to support its unique setting and ideas. The d12 success mechanic ensures that every choice in character creation is meaningful, with no option feelin gwasted or suboptimal. Each mechanic feels fun and rewarding to use, and there's an abundance of great options to explore. This is easily one of the best indie TTRPGs that I've ever read, and I've reead quite a few. It strikes a lovely balance between immersive storytelling and solid mechanics. Players who prefer lighter games won't feel overwhelmed by complex calculations, but players who like the classic crunch of D&D 3.5e, Pathfinder, and other more mechanically intensive games will still find plenty to engage with. It's a brilliantly designed game and I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone.
